Barrancas

Barrancas was used as a soundtrack to a 3D YouTube video I shot of the same name exploring the Historic Fort Barrancas. This is the second piece that I have created of this nature; both have been quite interesting to work on. These compositions are certainly more about the textures of sounds more than anything else, I consider it more sound sculpting than traditional composing.

Compared to my prior track “Fortress of the Forgotten” this track is a bit more melodic but still maintains a high degree of cinematic drama. The fortress I was showing in the video is massive with hallways that echo and stretch deep within a large hill; the haunting horn like wail used in this track represents the scale and unsetting nature of that first experience inside the fortress.

For the composition I pretty much stuck to the Native Instruments array of instruments, heavily favoring Absynth for this score.
