As a child of the 70’s I grew up listening to what would be the start of New Age and Electronica, styles that still often held elements from the genres of music they emerged from such as rock, classical and psychedelic sounds.

As time has passed, the genres have become more specialized and more definitive in form but I am gravitating to the nature of that early music where any style can unapologetically embrace another.

The composition is as much about the sounds and effects as the notes themselves. The flow of progression and the swells of the dynamic range can take you to unpredictable places.

So for this track is it a romantic piano ballad, a 50’s Theremin horror theme or a 70’s rock opera? Who knows but the journey is greater than the destination.

It also gave me a chance to put two titan synthesizers up against each other, the 1975 Moog Modular and the ultra-rare 1983 Octave Plateau Voyetra 8 for the grand finale.
